IDA Invites: Rony Rex & Friends

For Kallio Block Party weekend, Helsinki-based DJ, producer and radio host Rony Rex brings a special group of friends to IDA for four hours of genre-fluid club music.

Across two decades, Rony has developed a playful and high-energy sound rooted in house, bass and global club music, with detours into indie dance, hyperpop and unexpected corners of electronic music. Guided by curiosity and a love of connecting sounds from different scenes, his sets are less concerned with genre boundaries than instinct.

The evening reflects that open-minded approach: from Kasumisu’s anime-tinted selections to Mayela’s collision of neoperreo, latincore and brazilian funk, with Rony Rex joining the dots and Kevin Paul bringing the session to a close with garage / speed garage, miami bass and jersey club.
